We started charlestonstockphotography.com to provide a wide range of photos from Charleston and the lowcountry. While we are proud to offer photos of quintessential Charleston sites such as Rainbow Row, the Battery, and the Ravenel Bridge (although captured in new and interesting ways), we also showcase a side of the lowcountry that many do not get to experience, such as deer on area beaches, dolphins strand fishing and bobcats prowling the marshes of Kiawah Island.
Much of the stock we’ve seen available is from travel photographers who visit for a few days, read the guide books and get what they can from the tourist’s perspective. We feel that there is far too much to the area to be captured in a short photo trip and without real local knowledge. Dedicated to getting the best images, we might wait weeks for the perfect sunset over Charleston Harbor or spend countless sunrises in the marsh catching moments that are unplanned and just appear. We capture Charleston in every season, from a local’s point of view.
This is a site that will grow continuously, with photos coming on all the time. New shots will start on the “New To CSP” page then migrate to the categorized galleries.
Jason Stemple
I am a Charleston-based photographer specializing in wildlife, nature and architecture. My work has appeared in publications such as Legends Magazine, USA Today, and 13 children’s books including the winner of the 2004 National Outdoor Book Award, Wild Wings.
My intensive experience in the lowcountry has resulted in knowledge of where and when breathtaking images are likely to occur. As a result, my wildlife and nature photography captures a unique perspective of the area’s beautiful natural world and its inhabitants.
I am happy to share my portfolio with you and discuss how I can contribute to your business. Whether it be an assignment or a stock photograph, I am dedicated to getting you the photos you need quickly and at rates comparable to the big stock houses while using a local source. |
